Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium has become the World’s Largest cricket Stadium

The Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium situated in Motera now becomes the world's largest Cricket Stadium in terms of sitting capacity. Last year Gujarat Cricket Association assigned a project to Larsen and Turbo (L&T) company to renovate this stadium. It is one of a dream project of PM Modi under the leadership of GCA president Amit Shah. The government has spent more than Rs. 700 crore in this project.

The new Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium spread over 63 acres of land and equipped with all modern facilities that International stadiums can have. The newly build stadium houses a capacity of 1,10,000 people snatching the crown of world largest cricket stadium from the Melbourne Cricket Ground which can hold only 100,024 people. The new stadium have improved infrastructure for the spectators with an increase in the number of air-conditioned boxes and upgradation of the parking facilities now it can occupy upto 3,000 cars and 10,000 bikes.

The process of entry, stay and exit has been made more smooth and there is a lot of emphasis on facilitating the guided tour of the Cricket Museum. Other facilities like key features such as food court, Fan-Zone and Washroom are of top quality and competing with international stadiums.
